ANNOUNCEMENT
Encinitas Firefighters Endorse Julie Thunder for City Council

Thank you EFA for selecting me as your candidate of choice. I look forward to serving with you!

MY PUBLIC SAFETY MESSAGE HAS BEEN RESONATING:

  • REDUCE WILDFIRE RISK
    • in the higher risk neighborhoods along the outer edges of our city – South El Camino Real, Manchester Avenue, and Olivenhain
  • INSTALL A PERMANENT FIRE STATION IN OLIVENHAIN
    • to better protect our periphery (and the people who live nearby) and the Escondido Creek watershed (a vital asset for wildlife and native plants that’s vulnerable to fire)

MORE GOOD NEWS!

Campaign financial reporting is in – and it’s clear my support from Cardiff and Encinitas is nearly DOUBLE that of my opponent’s

In contrast, my opponent’s list of donations reveals her reliance on special interests and political insiders…
A LOOK AT MY OPPONENTS DONOR LIST:
  • 3 donors are Encinitas developers who each gave the max amount – will they expect future favors?
  • 2 donors are members of the El Camino Real Specific Plan Committee who gave the max amount – this committee is deciding if ECR’s future will be 5-story high rise apartments, Orange County style shopping centers, or both
  • 88% of her donors are politically connected will she feel obligated to their partisan politics?;
  • Of the donors from her own district – all but ONE are directly connected to Mayor Blakespear – family members or Blakespear-appointed commissioners, or their spouses.

With 2 months left of campaigning, I still need your support to fund the remainder of my race for City Council.

(Donations can be from anywhere in Encinitas, the state of California, and the U.S. and can range from $5 to $250 per person)

MY PRIORITIES
  • Reduce homelessness with compassion and common sense enforcement
  • Support Local Control & sensibly managed growth
  • Protect our communities from crime and wildfire risk
  • Fund open space acquisition

YARD SIGNS are popping up !

Get yours here.
JUST FOR FUN
Sunday was Cardiff 101’s Dog Days of Summer.  It was a huge success and the biggest one ever.

PS – Did you know the Libation Lounge vendors DONATED all their product for the day?  Awesome people in our town!
Volunteering with Devon in the Lost Abbey booth pouring their West Coast IPA and Czech Pilsner.  I didn’t want my shift to end!
Sincerely,

Julie Thunder
